It is rather difficult to narrow my favorite makeup items down to five, but here they are…the things I can’t live without.

**Even though I did survive without through USCG basic training, but I’m sure I scared some people in the early morning. The bags under my eyes rival that of Mary Poppins magic carpet bag. You should have seen me trying to apply mascara after those 8 weeks; it was like a baby deer trying to walk. WOOF.

Maybelline Superstay 24 hour Foundation
A complete drugstore "designer feel" win
I haven't worn actual foundation since 2010 so when I tried it again I was expecting to be disappointed. FALSE. This foundation is so light to the touch it doesn't even feel like you're wearing anything! All the while covering up any blemish or darkspots. It's sorcery and I love it. **PRO TIP: a tiny tiny bit goes a long way! Use a beauty blender or foundation brush to blend on your face and avoid that cake thick look!

Smash box Spotlight Pallete Highlighter
Glow up girl!
This is a recent find and I am obsessed with it! I use the middle shade for highlighting and contouring my cheekbones and the last shade to add sparkle wherever I feel like it. It's such a natural highlighter without looking heavy or overzealous. I mean we all love glow and glitter, but let's keep it in check.

Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow + Volumizing Eyebrow Gel
Brows for days...even in the water!
Secrets out, I don't have the greatest natural brows. So I recently tried this little miracle in a tube. The precision brush allows you to add the tinted gel to the actual brow hairs rather than the skin underneath leaving you with natural color and easily shaped brows that don't look like they were tattooed on by a retired mechanic. If I can say I have one signature makeup look it would be my cat eye winged liner. It just works for me! Natural. Perfect. Lashes. every time
I've tried fake eyelashes, I've tried eyelash extensions. None of them work for me. I do have naturally long eyelashes but they're pretty light brown. This little tube of goodness adds the perfect amount of volume and color to make them go from bleh to va va voom!

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
All Day Lip wear thats kiss proof!
I have loved this brand for a couple years now and not only is there like 40 colors to choose from but the color lasts. all. day. It is drink proof kiss proof and just dana proof which is a feat in and of itself! *PRO TIP: I find after eating I like to touch up the inner parts of my lip that tend to wear faster. Top with some moisturizing lip balm and you're good!
