Try On Sesh || The Mint Julep Boutique

Fall fashion is in full swing and I am so ready!!! Is it just me or do you start looking for the next season’s fashions about halfway thought the previous season? Sorry summer, I can see fall so byyyeee!!

Fashion in Florida can be tricky, it’s usually somewhere in between “mildly warm” and “you’re standing on the surface of the sun wrapped in tinfoil which is drenched in baby oil.” For one week in January is it frigid cold…and that’s coming from a girl who was raised in the state of the Ice Bowl, but that week is glorious. Trying to find the perfect pieces that are cute, can be worn in the Florida heat and can transition to the rest of the year can be seemingly impossible when it comes to the Fall and Winter seasons! But…look what I found!

I get so excited to change up my wardrobe and when I got this box in from Shop the Mint, I was ecstatic! All these pieces are extremely comfortable and they can transition through more than just fall! That’s a huge win in my book, or should I say closet. Not to mention affordable, so my bank account isn’t giving me side eye which is nice for once.

Purple Tank | Vanity Stool | Pearl headband

The first piece is this Purple Flowy Tank. Let me start off by saying this is the softest fabric I have ever touched. It’s like angels took clouds and sewed it with this beautiful lavender cotton. It has a lot of stretch to it detailed with an adorable lace under the bust area, around the neck and bottom hem. I paired it with some cut offs for more of a relaxed weekend look but matched with some skinny jeans, a great hat and some booties, it would make the cutest date night outfit!  This tank comes in a multitude of colors as well, so don’t mind me while I select all and add to cart.

Brunch Tee | Hat | Skirt | Wedges

Next up is the Brunch Tee; it fits perfectly like every dream tee you would want in your closet. True to size with a bit of stretch; tuck it into a fun midi skirt or tie it up in a knot for the perfect brunch outfit with your girls!

Dress | Boots | iPhone Case | Popsocket

Now, usually I don’t pick out embroidered items for myself. It reminds me too much of Mexican mumu coverups my grandma would wear…maybe that was just my grandma but I digress. This is nothing like that at all! This Sage Green Baby doll dress is the CUTEST on and I never would have thought it would look adorable on me! Trust me folks, sometimes is great to go outside your comfort zone. This sage green color would totally transition into a spring piece as well as the fall line it was launched with. I paired it with these adorable knee high boots and I am obsessed with this look! Fully lined and not to mention, these dramatic sleeves add for a fun detail that I can’t wait to wear out on a date with the hubby.

Dress/Top | Booties | Shorts

Seeing a trend here? This black embroidered flower dress like the one above is a total hit for me. It has a slimmer babydoll cut with tee shirt length sleeves which makes it a great warm weather dress! I will warn you, I am 5’10” and when I bent over to put my sandals on my husband giggled and let me know it isn’t the most modest dress in the world so tall girls-be forwarded to bend like a lady in this one. #tallgirlprobs Regardless, this dress is flowy, comfortable and I can totally see myself sipping a virgin daiquiri on a beach overlooking the Gulf of Mexico in this beauty not even worrying about resembling my grandmas embroidered mumu. Also, please note to read the care instructions on the tag! I, unfortunately and stupidly, did not and carelessly threw it into the dryer and it shrunk. 6 inches. So, that is why in this photo it is styled as a loose blouse! Which either way is still hella adorable, but don’t be like me. Read the care tag friends!

Tan Booties. If I could tell you to purchase any one thing from this wonderful boutique; these are IT! I have been searching for a great pair of camel colored booties since the trend came up in late summer and I finally found a pair that are not only affordable (hello $30!) but so comfortable too! I wore these around for half the day running errands and had no blisters, rubbing or arch aches. I usually wear a size 8.5-9 and ordered a 9; fit like perfection! I can’t wait to wear these with jeans, cut offs and cute dresses all year long.

Dress | Pearl Headband | Sandals

I fully know summer is leaving us for fall but this little star spangled number was too cute not to share! Whether sitting pool side or blasting off fireworks on the 4th, I cannot wait to wear this cutie next season! It’s the lightest chambray fabric and so so soft, like holy cow! The intricate strap detailing on the back as well make it so much more than just a little chambray cover up dress. I love this little number! My only thing, is make sure you have an iron or a steamer handy, chambray is notorious for being easy wrinkled!

Jacket | Basic Tee | Hat

Now you may think, “Dana, why did you buy a jacket- you live in Florida” Well, yes. But this Brown Sweater Utility Jacket looked so cute and it was calling my name. I love a good layering jacket not to mention I am ALWAYS cold. The brown fabric resembles that of a classic military utility jacket but softer and the sleeves are an amazing stretchy, soft sweatshirt material. The hood is detachable if you want a more utilitarian look. This puppy is going to be my go to travel jacket for fall into winter to those colder places like Seattle and Wisconsin (pre snow season) we travel a lot to see family. It also comes in black too!

Thanks for joining me for this try on session! I hope you found something you like, and if not- The Mint Julep Boutique has so many adorable fashion finds not covered here and many under $50! Their customer service and shipping speed was so impressive and I cannot wait to shop with them again.
